Is Tenderfoot free?
Almost all of it, permanently. The whole 245-week timeline, the vaccine schedule, every “call the doctor if” warning, all 251 recipes and both parents’ lists are free and stay free — nothing that keeps a child safe sits behind a payment. A paid tier, Tenderfoot Plus, is coming for people who want more Ask questions and their full log history with charts and export; both prices are shown on this page. It is not on sale yet. When it opens we will say so in the app at least 30 days beforehand, no existing account is ever charged without choosing a plan, and every household that signed up before launch keeps everything free for a further twelve months.
Is the guidance written or checked by a doctor?
Not yet, and we say so on the signup screen, on every stage in the app, and here. The content was drafted from mainstream maternal and child health sources and is marked unreviewed. We are building a clinical review process and will name the clinicians once they are in place. Until then, treat it as a starting point for a conversation with a professional, not a replacement for one.
Is it for the mother or the father?
Both, in one household. Each parent gets their own sign-in and their own list, and both of you see both lists. A nanny or grandparent can join as a helper to see the day’s plan and log feeds; only parents change the plan. Invite links work once, expire in seven days, and can be revoked.
What period does it cover?
From four weeks pregnant to the child’s fourth birthday: 245 weeks in one continuous timeline, with no handover between a pregnancy app and a baby app.
Which countries does it support?
India, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States. Vaccine schedules are per country and each names its issuing authority, and recipes can follow your region and diet. In India, Tenderfoot shows no infant formula and no feeding bottles at all, as the Infant Milk Substitutes Act 1992 requires.
Does Tenderfoot use AI, and what does it see?
Yes, in one place: the Ask tab. A question goes to a large language model together with your baby’s week, your country and your role, assembled on our server. It is not trained on your data, nothing you log is used to improve any model, and no photograph is kept. The rest of the app is written content and arithmetic, not AI.
What stops the AI from saying something dangerous?
Checks that do not rely on the model behaving. A keyword check runs before the question and escalates red flags whatever the model decides. A second check runs on the finished answer and refuses to send anything that names a diagnosis or puts a number on a medicine. When a check fires you are told plainly, and told to ask a person.
Are you paid for the products you show?
No. Every "buy" button is a plain search on a retailer you already use, built from the product name. Nothing is ranked by commission, every entry lists its drawbacks as well as its merits, and nobody pays to be listed.
What happens to what I log?
It stays in your household, visible to its parents and any helper you invite. It is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and there are no third-party trackers. You can ask for a copy or ask us to delete the household at any time.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. It installs to your home screen from the browser and opens like an app. No app store, nothing to download.
